    I love this show, but it is consistently frustrating at how imbecilic the writers penned in the characters. I mean, they just keep doing the stupidest things. Also, what is up with destroying the Pegasus, the very best ship in the fleet?

    well, i don’t think that Pegasus is really the best Battlestar that they have. just that it might be a little bit higher tech but with the Cyclons high tech might not be the best.

    I don’t understand how Pegusas survived the attack on the colonies and the fights after it until they met Galactica in the first place? I though all ‘modern’ ships were instantly paralyzed and left helpless by the Cylon virus, because of their computer networks, which the ‘ancient’ battlestar Galactica DOESN’t have… A serious flaw in the story if you ask me!

    Well, good scripting is about getting the characters to the worst possible scenarios, so that, “ressurection” of mankind will be more appreciated and will keep us hanging on to the series until the Cylons come to us all, ie., forever.

    Pegasus survived the first attack because it was on the docked for repairs when the attack came. The computer systems were offline when the virus was launched, so the Pegasus was unneffected. Its mentioned in the episode when Pegasus/Galactica first encounter each other, and Adama is talking with the Admiral in her quarters.

    Pegasus had to perish; Apollo left all the raptors he had to defend the colonial fleet, so Pegasus had nothing to defend herself besides her own ammunition.

    Pegasus had to die so Galactica, and humanity, could live on.
